One idea
You have a dinner, an interview, or a first date coming up, the closet is full, and nothing in it feels right. Sound familiar?
Usually the clothes are fine, but the trouble is deciding from scratch, with everything you own in front of you and the clock running… that’s a lot of pressure!
When we build a wardrobe for a client, we make those decisions easier by labeling and photographing every piece, and writing down what to wear for any occasion, so getting dressed is just following the list.
You can borrow this concept without the labeling!
The next time you wear something and feel good in it all day, take a picture in the mirror before you change, and keep those pictures in one album on your phone. Then when the next dinner or interview comes up, you're choosing from outfits that worked before instead of guessing.
One style tip
Let people finish before you answer.
One quote
"I did it because I realized how much time and energy I could save during my workdays by just taking out the clothing aspect."
Matilda Kahl, an art director who wore a white shirt and black pants to work every day, speaking to CNBC
A few photos on your phone get you some of that time back.
One thing worth reading
Natalie Robinson walks through building a few go-to outfits, phone album included, in this piece at Inside Out Style.
One thing you can use before the weekend
Tonight, put on three outfits you already know you feel good in and take a mirror picture of each. That's the start of the album, so the next time a dinner or interview comes up, you'll have three to choose from.
Hit reply and tell me the outfit you always end up reaching for.
